Strengthening the Ease of Doing Business through Government and Business Collaboration

The PCCI and the Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA) had a meaningful and interactive exchange during the former’s first General Membership Meeting last March 2. The topic which featured government-private sector collaboration in championing the ease of doing business, provided an in-depth discussion on the proper and efficient conduct of government services by which ARTA sees indispensable in further facilitating business activities. Businesses were able to raise unjust and insensible practices of some LGUs and agencies which ARTA ensured that it will be given utmost attention and will be addressed properly.
The PCCI led by its President George Barcelon gave a ‘hats-off’ to the able leadership of Director General Jeremiah Belgica in proactively responding to the concerns of the private sector and assured him of all the support. Likewise, ARTA welcomed the opportunity to work with PCCI and said that his office will be working closely with them by tapping the presence and expertise of all its networks nationwide. PCCI further lauds the agency’s intention to designate an ARTA Resident in major government agencies that will help support its mandate. --- Edith Suelto
