Annual Investment Meeting Director General Walid Farghal paid a courtesy visit to Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President George T. Barcelon to explore cooperation in trade and investment between the Philippines and the Middle East.

 

Farghal personally invited Barcelon and PCCI members to the 12th edition AIM Global to be held on May 8-19, 2023 in Abu Dhabi, which he described as a good platform for Philippine companies to link and connect with potential investors, particularly in key sectors including infrastructure, energy, tourism, franchising and manufacturing industries.

 

Barcelon expressed delight at the invitation and possible cooperation as he underscored the PCCI’s thrust in putting the Philippines on the radar of foreign investors. “With the passage of vital economic policies, the Philippines remains a magnet for foreign investments and a vital gateway for those companies wanting to expand their presence in the ASEAN region,” he said.

 

The meeting also discussed suggestions on visa facilitation and more aggressive promotion to increase tourist arrivals from Middle East countries to further revitalize the tourism industry.
