PCCI meets with House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on economic priorities and agenda

Honorable House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez spoke before PCCI’s 3rd General Membership Meeting (GMM) last 04 August 2022 at the Makati Diamond Residences. The GMM dubbed ‘Economic Legislative Agenda: Priorities and Gameplans,” provided an opportunity for the private sector to discuss and propose reforms that will help boost and strengthen our economic, health and social sectors. The timing is right as we have a new government with able and competent officials who will pursue potential programs and implement new ones in aid of business recovery, effective health policy response and delivery of social protection programs, greater private sector participation in infrastructure projects and promotion of FDIs, among others.
Prior to the GMM, key officers of PCCI held a dialogue with Speaker Romualdez and presented to him PCCI priority legislative agenda which include concerns on taxation, internet connectivity, environment, energy and power, agriculture, among other important sectors.
The program was led by PCCI President George Barcelon, Honorary Chair Bing Limjoco, Atty. Anthony Bengzon together with Mr. Leonard Cincochan and Mr. Andy Manalac.
An open forum was also held which gave an opportunity for the members to raise their specific concerns. Speaker Romualdez addressed each of them and mentioned to work in collaboration with their respective legislators so they can further discuss it in the official forum.
