JICA Survey Team to hold DRRM presentation at the PCCI Office on June 21

The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Survey Team is set to present new technology that can be used when disasters strike the country on 21 June 2023 at the BA Securities Hall, PCCI Office, Taguig City.

Organized by the Infrastructure Committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), this presentation aims to help equip local property developers, builders/constructors, other players in the construction and infrastructure industry and offices and agencies in-charge of disaster management in both public and private sector, with new techniques and methods that could help lessen the impact of natural disasters and cut down the recovery time after calamities hit.

Situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire and the typhoon belt in the Pacific, the Philippines is vulnerable to frequent earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and intense typhoons – with an average of 20 typhoons every year, five of which are destructive. This, coupled with climate change, has posed a great risk for the Filipinos thus urging them to always be prepared for natural disasters.
