Mandaue CCI wins PCCI’s Most Outstanding Chamber in the Philippines Victory elevates chamber to hall of fame

The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by president, Mr. Kelie Ko is this year’s winner of the PCCI’s 2022 Most Outstanding Chamber in the Philippines-City level 1 Award.  This is the third win of the Chamber in the last five years, elevating them into the Hall of Fame.  Mandaue CCI, has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance in influencing policy-makers and undertaking programs and providing services for the expansion of commerce, industry, and investments in the Visayas and in the country.

 

The award was conferred to Mandaue CCI at the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo last 20 October 2022.  The awarding ceremony was led by His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with PCCI President George T. Barcelon, PCCI Chairman William Co, 48th PBC&E Chair Ferdinand A. Ferrer, 48th PBC Awards Chair Alfredo M. Yao, and Adviser and Past PCCI President Ma. Alegria S. Limjoco.

 

Bislig City Chamber headed by Mr. Leonidas Dingding bagged the City Level 2 award; Dinagat Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Mr. Leonel Rojo, the Province Level 2 trophy; and, Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Ms. Ma. Emma Llorin the Province Level 1 win.

 

Also recognized are the Most Outstanding Chambers in the Areas: PCCI-Quezon City headed by Mr. Alfred Geoffrey Carandang for City Level 1 in the National Capital Region; Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Mr. Mario Villanueva for South Luzon City Level 1; Metro Angeles CCI under Ms. Elizabeth Timbol for North Luzon City Level 1; and, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan, Inc. headed by Ms. Reggie Punongbayan for Mindanao City Level 1.

 

The Most Outstanding Young Chamber Award was conferred to PCCI Lipa City headed by Ms. Noraida Moraida.

 

Special citation awards were also presented during the 48th PBC&E Fellowship Night to eleven (11) chambers for their active partnership with the local government, for providing services to members, and for their highly commendable advocacy initiatives: PCCI New Marikina, PCCI Parañaque City, PCCI Bacoor City, PCCI Puerto Princesa City, PCCI San Pablo City, Metro Bacolod CCI, Ormoc City CCI, Davao City CCI, Cagayan de Oro CCI, General Santos City CCI and Tandag CCI.

 

The winners were selected by a panel of judges composed of the following: Usec. Blesila Lantayona, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Operations Group (chairman of the board of judges); Mr. Ernie Cecilia, chairman of the Human Capital Committee of American Chamber; Mr. Jerry Clavesillas, former director of DTI Bureau of Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED), Mr. Sam Christopher Lim, president of Philippine Franchise Association; Ms. Blanca Mercado, president and COO, The Manila Times and Dr. Elizabeth Recio, Business Cluster Head, University of Sto. Tomas.

 

The Most Outstanding Chamber Award is an annual project of PCCI which seeks to recognize a local chamber whose leadership and dynamism contributed to business growth and development of the community.  This year’s MOCA is headed by PCCI adviser and chairman of the Philippine Chamber Development Institute (PhilCDI) Alberto P. Fenix Jr.
