PCCI-DAP formally launch scholarship program on Data Science courses
Encourages PCCI members to avail of scholarships
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) has launched their partnership Project SPARTA, or Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics, Research and Development, Training and Adoption. 300 scholarship grants are offered to PCCI corporate members, industry association members, local chambers, and employees with the aim of building a strong Data Science and Analytics (DSA) industry in the country.
“More businesses are coming to the gradual realization that data is now more a strategic asset rather than mere secondary information. This signals the need for cultivating a data-driven culture,” PCCI Vice President for Industry Affairs Perry Ferrer said.
DSA is the ability to understand and transform data into a business function. It has become a lucrative economic resource across all industries as it enables businesses to harness their data and use it to make informed business decisions including identifying new opportunities that leads to smarter business moves, more efficient operations and higher profits.
“One of the core capabilities if you want your business to innovate is data and analytics. Data is the new oil because it fuels Industry 4.0,” stated Analytics Association of the Philippines (AAP) Executive Director Sherwin Pelayo.
