Mission
The main responsibility of PCCI is to provide focused advocacy for business growth and sustainable development by providing business services for the advancement of grassroots entrepreneurship, chamber development, international trade relations, business innovation and excellence, and operating efficiency. These will be achieved through a professional organization working in close cooperation with various stakeholders in public and private sectors.
PCCI, Brunei discuss areas of collaboration in trade, investment

Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President George T. Barcelon alongside key officers hosted H.E. Megawati Manan, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Philippines for a courtesy call on 17 May 2023 at the PCCI Office to discuss areas of collaboration between the Philippines and Brunei, particularly in trade, investment, tourism, and halal food industry.
During the meeting, Barcelon provided key insights to ensure the advancement of bilateral trade and collaboration through the development of waterway logistical transport among BIMP-EAGA members, facilitation of cross-country movement and investment, and promotion of ASEAN Centrality. Likewise, Ambassador Manan urged exploration of other areas of collaboration between the two countries to maximize business opportunities such as tourism and halal food certification.
Both representatives conveyed optimism in advancing Philippines - Brunei economic ties, despite modest bilateral trade volume through the enhancement of existing collaborative ties through the Brunei Darussalam - Indonesia - Malaysia - Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) and the ASEAN - Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC). Earlier this month, Barcelon attended the ASEAN-BAC meeting in Indonesia to promote better business collaboration among ASEAN members.
International Affairs Committee Chair and 49th Philippine Business Conference and Expo co-chair Jude Aguilar also proposed to establish a business council with Brunei as well as to sign a cooperation agreement with the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brunei Darussalam (NCCIBD) in order to formalize business cooperation between two countries.
