AMN Chair for 2022 Neak Oknha Kith Meng, represented by Oknha Sok Piseth, enumerated the AMN priorities for 2022 such as the continued focus of AMN on food and medical industries as part of its work plan given the importance of re-establishing the supply of these essential goods for business recovery, limiting trade-hampering effects of technical regulations by harmonizing product standards across ASEAN and operationalizing Mutual Recognition Agreements, supporting sustainable development in ASEAN through effective public-private sector participation in environmental governance, and enabling of cross border data flow across ASEAN.

Oknha Sok Piseth emphasized that AMN looks forward to deepening its relationship with the ASEAN BAC and development partners in specific areas such as trade facilitation, RCEP, healthcare, and smart manufacturing, among others. He added that the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) hopes to hold a physical AMN meeting in Cambodia next time.

Mr. Amores suggested having an agreement on timelines, specifically on mutual recognition agreements to reduce technical barriers and accelerate trade within the region.

The next AMN meeting shall be scheduled before the ASEAN BAC meeting.
