The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and its youth arm, the Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association (PYEA) are exploring possible partnerships with the International Trade Centre (ITC) on developing the entrepreneurial skills of the youth.

In a meeting hosted at the PCCI, the groups identified areas of cooperation in mentorship, creating student-entrepreneurs’ networks, research, internationalization, and investment readiness.

PYEA President, Ms. Charmaine Co welcomed the partnership as it aligns with the youth group’s program of inclusive entrepreneurship.  The program targets students or new graduates of entrepreneurship or related courses to supplement their learnings through applied know-how on starting a business.  The program also targets aspiring entrepreneurs, registered business owners who want to expand and unregistered business owners in the informal sector to promote the benefits of formalizing their business.

Attending the meeting were Ms. Charmaine Co, PYEA National President; Mr. Brandon Leong, Round One (PYEA Partner); Mr. Gio Luis Ortiz, PYEA Manila President; Mr. Rj Tan, PYEA Co-Founder; Ms. Melissa Varela, PYEA VP of Internal Affairs; Mr. Carlo Calimon, Founder of StartUp Village; Ms. Maria Esperanza Alconcel, and Ms. Claire Louise Sterngold, Youth & Trade Programme ITC. --- Athena Danielle Quizon
