PCCI, Qatar CCI discuss joint ventures in strategic sectors

Philippines-Qatar Business Council Chairperson Eric N. Mendoza and Assistant Secretary-General for International and Regional Affairs Edwin R. Glindro on met with Mr. Ahmed F. Abu-Nahia, acting Director of Public Relations and Communication and Mr. Abutaleb Mohd. Hassan, Protocol Coordinator of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) to discuss the proposed visit of a QCCI business delegation to the Philippines in the 2nd quarter of 2023.  As one of the important countries that Qatar is targeting for growth expansion, Mr. Nahia emphasized that QCCI wishes to lead a delegation to the Philippines to open the door for wider bilateral partnership.  Strategic areas of cooperation are furniture, food, infrastructure, and medical services.

 

Mr. Mendoza assured the QCCI that the PCCI and the Philippines-Qatar Business Council (PQBC) will work on facilitating the Philippine visit of the Qatar business delegation.  Mr. Mendoza also informed the QCCI officers that he is looking forward to having a Qatar-Philippines Business Council and the convening of the Joint Business Council. 

 

The meeting was also attended by Consul General Cassandra Sawadjaan of the Philippine Embassy in Doha, Assistant Secretary Glenn Penaranda of the Department of Trade and Industry - Foreign Trade Service Corps, Commercial Attache Charmaine Mignon S. Yalong of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Dubai, Economic Officer Catherine Palomo, and PCCI Manager for International Affairs Department Lyn Gabionza.
