PCCI South Luzon, ICCPI co-organizes 1st Calabarzon Business Conference

Last April 28, PCCI South Luzon in partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ICCPI) and other bilateral EU chambers in the Philippines spearheaded the first-ever CALABARZON Business Conference virtually via Zoom.
The main objective of the said event is to connect European Chambers to emerging growth centers in selected cities/areas of the Philippines such as Calabarzon to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth that empowers local MSMEs and the business sector as well, fostering the business relationships between foreign and local stakeholders to discover new business opportunities.
In her opening message, AVP Sallie Lacson underscored the importance of having a strong partnership between the government, private sector and foreign partners in restarting not only Calabarzon’s economy but the entire country as well.
“We must believe in the importance of open, constructive and objective dialogue, partnership and collaboration in pursuing sustainable programs to be able to continue effectively serving our respective communities,” AVP Lacson added.
The online forum, attended by local and international businesses and investors, highlighted experts' prospects on the economic growth of Region IV-A, which exceeds most other regions of the country.
The event also highlighted major infrastructure projects in the region partially funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which are equipping the region with strategic assets in the transport and logistics sector. In line with this, property and land development are a particularly interesting opportunity which real estate developers like Italpinas Development Corp. (IDC) led by Chairman and CEO Romolo Nati and Havitas Developments Corp. Chairman and Co-Founder Alejandro Mañalac have grasped successfully.
Meanwhile, Science Park of the Philippines Inc. President Richard Osmond, who definitely has a feel for all the incoming locators of the area being part of the biggest industrial park development company of the Philippines, vouched for his industrial park's location, eco-awareness and safe environment.
Furthermore, tourism opportunities & investments and developments in the energy sector were also presented by PCCI Regional Governor for Region 4A Romeo Race and BrightNight Power Country Head for the Philippines Michael Yamazoe respectively.
Despite the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Calabarzon continues to be a vibrant region. It is regarded as one of the country’s center of investments where rapid development in the region provides a huge impact with its significant multiplier effects that benefit many sectors of the country’s economy.
It continues to strengthen its leadership as the premier manufacturing and industrial hub of the Philippines and with this, more investments and opportunities are expected to come in the region moving forward.
