PCCI president George T. Barcelon met with the Ambassador of Oman to the Philippines, His Excellency Nasser Said Abdullah Al Manwari on April 11, 2023 to increase business exchanges between Oman and the Philippines. 

 

“PCCI welcomes Omani investors to the Philippines and the most effective stage to look at the local opportunities will be during the 49th Philippine Business Conference and Expo on October 25 and 26, 2023. PCCI and its counterparts in Oman should make full use of the power of the electronic platform to communicate and do business more effectively,” Barcelon said. 

 

PCCI chairman for International Affairs Jude G. Aguilar told the ambassador that, “PCCI shall work with the Embassy to connect PCCI with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the renewal of their cooperation agreement and to undertake activities that would stimulate economic ties.”

 

The ambassador shared that Oman is promoting oil and gas, fishing, and tourism sectors to fuel the country’s economic development and that Oman is working with other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members in holding a major event with ASEAN later this year. He also expressed strong interest to attend and be part of the 49th PBC of PCCI. 

 

The meeting was also joined by the members of the PCCI Executive Committee.
