PCCI is the voice of Philippine business recognized by government and international institutions. As a proactive catalyst of development, PCCI promotes and supports the drive for globally competitive Philippine enterprises in partnership with government, local chambers, and other business organizations.
Mission
The main responsibility of PCCI is to provide focused advocacy for business growth and sustainable development by providing business services for the advancement of grassroots entrepreneurship, chamber development, international trade relations, business innovation and excellence, and operating efficiency. These will be achieved through a professional organization working in close cooperation with various stakeholders in public and private sectors.

TESDA-PCCI-Alay Buhay Project, TB Active Case Finding Development Partners or ACF-DP
In 2021, TESDA, the PCCI through the PCCI Committee on the UN Sustainable Development Goals chaired by Mr. Joel Tugade, the PCCI North Luzon Sector under Area Vice President Gigi Simbulan, and Alay Buhay Community Development Foundation, Inc. led by Mr. Antonio Sayo, forged a one-year memorandum of agreement on the project, “TB Active Case Finding Development Partners or ACF-DP”. The partnership aimed to (1) give the workers, the unemployed and the vulnerable but employable sectors of the region access to its various and relevant training programs; (2) help enterprises cope with the reskilling requirements of workers who are on furlough due to restrictions brought about by COVID; (3) help the chambers identify new skills requirements for new work opportunities that have emerged due to the pandemic and the new training needs; (4) give some impetus to the recovery efforts of Region III by helping address the TB problem currently affecting the region by supporting the National TB Control Program of the DOH; (5) help the workforce and other stakeholders in the region assess its health status by supporting the Region’s Active TB Case Finding Efforts especially the vulnerable sectors in specified industries such as those working near mining and cement factories, crowded urban areas prone to all types of pollution as well as areas where there is high probability of lung diseases; and, (6) provide opportunities for decent work and productivity for workers, their families and communities where they live and were possibly affected by TB and enhance potentials for local business growth.
TESDA was responsible for organizing, and coordinating on the reskilling and upskilling of existing workers of the local chambers in Region III providing PCCI North Luzon with technical inputs and assistance specifically on skills mapping and scholarship. PCCI SDG through PCCI North Luzon focused on the necessary coordination with the respective local chambers or enterprises in Region III while Alay Buhay was accountable for Active Case Finding (ACF) Activities.
Undertaking a skills mapping in the area, the project identified list of the top 3 priority skills requirement under construction, ICT, and other sectors per province.
For construction, the top priority skills with were carpentry, masonry, electrician, welding, plumbing, tile-setting, and HEO (rigid on-highway dump truck). For the ICT sector - mobile app/web developer, call center agent, computer systems servicing, game programming, graphic designing, and information technologist. For the agriculture sector, Nueva Ecija added that the province recognized bamboo production as a top priority skill with existing training regulation. In addition, the parties also submitted a list of top 3 priority skills for CS development under the same sectors.
TESDA provided scholarship grants on Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II for the province of Aurora, Pipefitting (Metallic) NC II for Bataan, Occupational Health and Safety for Employees and Staff in Bulacan SMEs, Service Industrial Electronic Modules, Products and Systems, and Eco Cast Production and Installation for Bulacan; Contact Services NC II for Tarlac; and Computer Systems Servicing NC II for Zambales. Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II was also offered to the provinces of Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga. The total number of slots available for the aforementioned courses amount to 411.
The partnership benefited a total of 313 graduates among the 403 endorsed by PCCI. TESDA was able to provide certification and proper assessment to 53 of those graduates. The SDG Committee is working for the renewal of the MOA. Athena Danielle Quizon
